Elevating Rural Education

Redefining the Classroom

RISE: Expanding Education and Opportunity

To address a teacher shortage in Illinois, the RISE Network was formed by SynapSiS. RISE, Rural Illinois Shared Education, is a video enabled, highly collaborative teaching and communication tool for education professionals in the State of Illinois. Powered by Polycom, K-12 teachers, students, professional development staff, and education administrators will have the ability to share teaching resources, engage in professional development programs and informal collaborative activities with colleagues, students and like professionals locally, regionally, and internationally.

Classroom Without Walls

The RISE Network will resolve many challenges facing both educators and students by achieving the following benefits:

  • Expanded dual credit courses for high schools
  • Expanded Advanced Placement courses for students
  • Expanded STEM opportunities for schools
  • Career & Vocational Classes Shared between School Districts
  • Facilitation of virtual mentorship
  • Virtual field trips
  • Facilitation of inquiry and project based learning
